Week 26 Another quiet week
Week 26
Not much this week...just doing this before I settle down to watch the cricket :)
The Greek workers move in on Monday - should be interesting...
Janny interviewed a family for us to get a new kid - we have to do a trial period to see if he fits in with the existing group. So, it just keeps going...although some of the kids seem to have grown up awfully quickly.
Been out with Boeke a couple of times already this morning...
Lots of walking now that my plantar fasciitis seems to have cleared up. I have new inner soles with raised arches...I wonder if plantar fasciitis was just "fallen arches"?
My 2nd walk with Boeke today...
Part of the new plan - but some of it we will have to "make up as we go along". Janny wants to knock down some walls - but I think that is a bit extreme - I'll be happy with just the new floors and the energy efficient heating...
On Friday, we had to go to a mini family reunion - The father (not related) emigrated from Groningen as a 6 year old.
I think it is his wife (born in America) who is the blood relation to Janny's Mum...(a daughter of one of Mum's brothers who emigrated)
The father was talking about their farm and milk prices and a few things...and came up with "but the Government is corrupt" - I nearly retorted with "yeah, starting with the Supreme Court" (and a few other things) - but I showed admirable restraint, knowing full well that there a few Trumpies in that side of the family :)
Some old photos were floating around - this one of Janny's Grandmother (Renny's Mum) - I met her shortly before she passed away at age 92.
The tractor is back - feels like I've been mowing all week. I have to do it all twice because it is so long.
